What you'll do
Alerts let the platform watch your watchlist companies for you. You will check that a results alert is on and learn where alerts show up.
🗣️
"Alert laga do, phir chain se padhai karo."
Step by step
- Click Smart Alerts in the sidebar (
/alerts). It watches the companies on your watchlists, so add a company first (Lesson 07). The page has three tabs: Digest, Inbox and Rules & Guide. - Open Rules & Guide. The line under Available Alerts shows how many alert types your plan includes.
- Under Apply alerts to, choose All my watchlists, or Specific watchlist and pick one.
- Find Results Declared under Events & Filings and switch it on. It tells you when new quarterly or annual results are out, in a message such as "HDFC Bank Q3 FY25 quarterly results now available". If it is already on, you are set: the platform switches on a starter set of alerts when you first add a company to a watchlist.
- Click Details on any alert to read what it means, why it matters and an example. Types marked Locked need a paid plan. The Free plan includes five, among them Results Declared, Corporate Action and Significant Price Move.
- Each alert has a severity (info, warning or critical) and a cooldown, which is a minimum gap between repeats (7 days by default), so one company cannot flood you. Alert concepts explains these in plain words, and Advanced rule lets you build your own rule later.
- When an alert fires, a red number appears beside Smart Alerts in the sidebar. Open Inbox, read it, then mark it as read or dismiss it. Digest groups the same alerts into a daily or weekly summary.
Good to know
Alerts are checked once a day, so they arrive as a daily update, not a live ticker.
Why this matters
Results, dividends and big announcements can land on any day. An alert saves you from checking every company each morning, and you still hear about changes at the companies you chose to follow.

Key takeaway
Alerts do the watching so you can do the thinking. They tell you that something happened, not what to make of it. "Nazar alert ki, samajh aapki."
