What you'll do

A watchlist is a saved list of companies you want to follow. You will make one, add companies to it and see which events are coming up for them.

🗣️

"Yaad mat rakho, list mein rakho."

Step by step

  1. Click Watchlists in the sidebar (/watchlists). The page has four tabs: Overview (your companies counted by stage), Events, Watchlists and Candidates. Open the Watchlists tab.
  2. Under My Watchlists you already have three starter lists: Learning / Observe, Shortlist and Tracking. To make your own, click the + beside My Watchlists, type a Watchlist Name and click Create.
  3. Select a list and click Add Company. Type at least two letters of a name or scrip code (the exchange's number for a company), pick the company and click Add.
  4. Two shortcuts: on any company page, click Add to Watchlist at the top of the Overview tab and pick a list. In the Screener, click the Add to Watchlist icon on a result row.
  5. In your list, use the Stage dropdown to mark each company Observe, Shortlisted or Tracked. These are your own labels for how closely you are following it.
  6. Click a company's row to open a side panel with its Tags, Notes and an Open Entity Page button. To remove a company, use the Remove from watchlist icon in the row's Actions column.
  7. Open the Events tab for upcoming results dates, dividends and other corporate events across all your lists. The Corporate calendar card on your Home page shows the next few.

Good to know

The Free plan holds up to 10 companies across all your lists, and removing one frees a slot. The first time you add a company, the platform also switches on a starter set of alerts for your lists (Lesson 11). Ignore Candidates for now; it is for in-depth research later.

Why this matters

Companies you looked at last week are easy to lose track of. A watchlist keeps them in one place, fills your Home page and feeds your alerts, so the platform can tell you when something changes.

Key takeaway

A watchlist is a memory aid: it keeps the companies you are studying in one place so none slips away. "Sab ek list mein."

Try it

Try this now (2 min)

Add one company you already know to Learning / Observe, then open the Events tab to see what is coming up for it.
